IVANS:
Interactive Voice Analysis System
Key Benefits of IVANS:
- The first system designed specifically as a clinical voice assessment system
- Advanced acoustic voice measures (47 in total), which are accurate, robust,
and highly-relevant to clinical needs
- Rigorous testing and evaluation of methods - includes unique, advanced methods,
particularly relevant to vocal pathologies
- Database accessed via onscreen forms for efficient data entry, archiving,
organization, search & retrieval
- Perceptual measures forms help you make, enter and archive voice quality
measures systematically, and link these with other data for the client
- Database makes it easy to enter new data on repeat visits, so you can easily
track client progress
- Integrated Report Generator lets you select measures and other information
from the database, to generate accurate and comprehensive clinical reports
About IVANS
IVANS is the first vocal function assessment system designed specifically for
clinical purposes. It provides clinicians with sophisticated objective, noninvasive,
acoustic measures that have proven power for assessing voice status, but have
never before been available in a clinical system. By implementing IVANS for multimedia
Windows PC's, we've even kept the system affordable and easy-to-use. Analyzing
vocal function has never been more accurate or more reliable: Avaaz has implemented
state-of-the-art measurement techniques of voice fundamental frequency (F0), F0
perturbation (jitter and shimmer), glottal noise, and related, derived measures.
The measures provided in IVANS system have been carefully tested to ensure that
they are highly relevant to clinical needs and are highly robust to the effects
of voices disorders and the realities of the clinical measurement situation.
The IVANS package implements these advanced, comprehensive, voice analysis methods
within a powerful and easy-to-use case management suite. The case management suite
includes a powerful database manager and a report generator. The database allows
client data to be quickly entered, searched, and retrieved, using a series of
onscreen forms. Using these forms, information relating to medical history, voice
use, clinical impressions, perceptual ratings of voice quality, as well as general
client data, can be recorded quickly and easily. These data supplement the acoustical
analyses, and can be easily retrieved and updated at subsequent client visits,
or retrieved and exported when you need to prepare reports.
For the voice analyses, IVANS lets you collect CD-quality audio samples from a
client and then characterize the client's voice using a wide range of proven measures.
Through years of careful clinical research, we've evaluated the clinical utility
of the full range of vocal function measures, retaining only those measures for
IVANS that meet real clinical needs and expectations.
The IVANS system includes a comprehensive client management suite including a
powerful database management system. The database manager uses a form fill-in
approach to make it easy for you to enter and access your client data, including
client histories, clinical judgements and the results of vocal function assessment.
