Our AphasiaMate
system was designed by clinicians to assist in the treatment of aphasia and adult
language disorders. This unique multimedia system can be used by clients alone
or with assistance from a caregiver. Such use can vastly increase the amount of
systematic therapy time that can be provided to a given client, while controlling
costs in a responsible manner.
AphasiaMate consists of eight main sections containing 146 different therapy tasks
and more than 1700 individual exercises. Exercises incorporate text, graphics,
and video clips and work on skills including comprehension of written and auditory
material, spelling, solving problems of time and money, and classifying semantically-related
items. Tasks range from a basic to high level of difficulty, so AphasiaMate may
be used repeatedly by clients from early to late stages of treatment, and contains
exercises suitable for most clients in your caseload.
To facilitate use both in the clinic and by clients at home, AphasiaMate is available
in two formats. First, as a full clinical version, with integrated sequencing,
control, and reporting components. Second, as separate groups of modules intended
for use by clients independently or with the assistance of a caregiver.

AphasiaMate was designed for use with clients with Aphasia, but many tasks are
appropriate for any individual with a language disorder, including children with
a language delay, and people of all ages with a learning disorder. It may also
be used by children and adults learning English. Because you can select exercises
for each client depending on his/her skills and needs, use it wherever you believe
it to be appropriate.

Minimum Computer System Requirements
IBM compatible PC (Pentium or equivalent processor, with 16 Mb RAM and at least
16 Mb disk space), Windows 98, NT, 95 or 3.1x, with 4XCD-ROM, SVGA monitor, Microsoft
Windows compatible mouse, and suitable audio hardware.
Audio Hardware
AphasiaMate works with any Windows-compliant multimedia sound card (e.g., Creative
Laboratories Sound Blaster 16 or equivalent). Audio signals may be replayed via
earphones or speakers (consult manufacturer or resller of you audio hardware for
suitable selection).
